Meet Lady Lucille Haynie
Lady Lucille Wesson-Haynie was born February 22, 1952, in Forrest City, Arkansas to Louis and Cherry Wesson. She is the 16th of 18 children; raised in Parkin, Arkansas and graduated from Parkin High School in 1970; where she was an avid member of the track and field team.
In 1971, she moved to Chicago and blessed with the ability to draw freehand expressive art; in 1972 she began her studies of Art at LaSalle Extension University. However, these studies were interrupted as she went back home to Parkin to help care for her father.
Upon her return to Chicago, she soon met Johnnie R. Haynie, who spotted her in the choir stand of Mercy Seat MB Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Amos Waller. She not only sang in the church choir but with the Waller singers along with her sister, Clara Wesson and many others. She was also a part of the theatrical group led by the late Dorothy J. Brooks.
Lady Haynie earned a certificate in early childhood education from Triton College and operated a home daycare from 1978 – 1990 and she has also spent time as an independent sales consultant for Avon and Jafra; all while raising her children, and the children of many others.
Despite many accomplishments and talents, she is most proud of her 44-year relationship and love affair with Pastor Johnnie R. Haynie & her two daughters who are not ashamed to say that they belong to God!
Her favorite scripture is Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”
She is consistently in prayer that all who proclaim Jesus as their Savior will seek Him daily and ensure that their walk matches their talk.
