Garden of Prayer Ministries

Deacon Ministry
GOP’s Deacons are to exemplify Christian love: Worship God in spirit and truth; pray for wisdom; support the Pastor and his vision for a loving church; assist the Pastor with the two ordinances of the church – Baptism and Communion; edify the saints in your assigned ministry and every other church ministry; visit the sick and shut-ins, encourage youth and set a Christian example before them; tithe to the church one’s time, talent and substance; winning souls for Christ at home, on the job, and in the wider community; and grow spiritually, always striving to glorify God. “Jesus reminds them that inasmuch as ye have cared for, served, loved the least among you, you have cared for, served, and loved me”. Matthew 25:34-37

Hospitality Ministry
Weekly Greeters will arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of our worship gatherings in order to greet guests and provide them with weekly handouts. They will "man" the doors for 10-15 minutes after service starts to greet anyone else who may arrive late. They will also help "exit greet" at the conclusion of service. “Let brotherly love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:1-2

Security Ministry
GOP Security Ministry is to safeguard our Pastors, and church leaders and to provide security for the GOP members, guests as well as the property. We provide security during normal service hours and all special events. Our ministry works together with all ministries within GOP for the purpose of achieving one goal: To serve and support the Body of Christ and for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace”: Luke 11:21

Transportation Ministry
The Transportation Ministry provides service for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend Sunday worship services or Bible studies. Ministry volunteers also frequently provide transportation for church and choir members for other activities away from the church. “And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” – Luke 14:23
Usher Ministry
To ensure anyone attending worship or other programs at GOP feels comfortable while also having Ushers trained to follow established protocol to ensure services are orderly and with few distractions. “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. Communication Ministry

Youth Ministry
Passionate about children and families, the Youth Ministry Team at Garden of Prayer is committed to encouraging children to follow Jesus and become like him. We believe we can help families grow in their faith development by laying firm foundations early in the spiritual life of children. These foundations formed in our early years greatly affect our learning and growth throughout our lives. Understanding that our faith journeys are always works in progress, we offer intentional and thoughtful experiences and learning opportunities through our Youth Ministry.
